  • Hello everyone!

I know this is a long post, but here are a few of my thoughts on the future of this wiki.

A recent post made by Djahuti in response to the sudden background/theme change made the current state of the wiki pretty clear. While there are definitely a number of dedicated people working on the articles themselves, the wiki itself is a mess by any wiki standards, and it's gone months without change.

On top of that, we're really missing a lot in terms of communication. For example, the recent theme change should have been voted on, or in the least, discussed by the community. Instead, it suddenly happened without any notice, and to be honest, I'm not even sure who the admins are here.

And last but not least, the second season of Milo Murphy's Law (Not to mention the Phineas and Ferb Crossover!) is fast on its way, bringing a lot of new and old fans. We should work as a dedicated community to improve the wiki as much as we can before then, and after, for the sake of our beloved show!

So I'm making this post in hopes of bringing us together and sorting this stuff out so that we can work towards a complete and active wiki. Please add any and all of your thoughts so we can sort it all out.

Finally, in honor of being a democratic space, here are a few of my opinions. (Please be sure to post your own!)

    - I'd really appreciate it if somebody posted a list of the admins, active or inactive. And on that note, we should use the voting platform of the community to sort out the issues through promotion/demotion.

    - We really need to work on the layout of the wiki. From the 'Characters' dropdown to the 'Administrators' tab leading to a blank page, it's a very frustrating place to navigate. And that's not to mention the complete lack of activity on the front page itself.

    - We should change the theme/background back to the way it was. I really feel that the red of the new theme doesn't suit Milo Murphy's Law, personally. There's also the many issues with the background, not limited to the fact that it is a fanart, and not an official work.

If nothing else, I'd be willing to be a dedicated admin (or temporary/trial admin?). I've got experience in web design, advanced English, and programming, and while I've never been an admin to a Wiki before, I'd be willing to put as much time as I need into studying anything I need to know. I will always be open to any criticism and opinions, and voting/communication would be a top priority. (And of course, my life is already dedicated to MML- I've watched the show over more times then I can count, and I would be thrilled to watch it many more!)

Regardless, thank you so much for taking the time to read this post, and I hope we can use it as a start to making our wiki a more active, organized space.

    • I would not mind being an admin but I am not really super active on this Wiki right now. Granted, if we wait until new episodes come in April, then I will be more active. I do love this show and am always trying to keep it up to date with relavent information.

And I agree that I liked the background we had before. Nothing ethically wrong with the background we have now but it's fanart and does not really fit IMO.

    • I know of four occasions that someone was voted to be an Admin or Bureaucrat and then nothing came of it, recently I was twice supported to be promoted to Bureaucrat myself.
What stings most about that was all the research I did to select Admins as support staff. I looked at all the profiles on the leaderboard (including the other wikis they listed and their contributions there). It was a lot of work.

There are only two Admins here, ThePokemonGamer and AndiCruz. ThePokemonGamer's last contribution was in November and AndiCruz's last contribution was a reply to a message in October. That reply was, "I don't really work here."

By the way, asking to be an Admin is strongly discouraged.

    • Me here and Pretty Lightningreed (PL) are the admins of Milo Murphy's Law Wiki Vietnamese. We're super active there, but unfortunately not here, so we'll try to help as soon as we can.

About being admin, we can't ('cause the above reason), but we could help you how. You all saw the navigation bar, didn't you? It's lack of moderation, really lack of it (which Lightningreed was sarcastic about in the last thread xD). I'm glad when there's at least someone cares about being admin. We need one, to fix some issues we're having right now. The only thing is how long you're gonna take care, 'cause you don't want to be in the case like other admins that had been promoted before.

So that means that no one who is active here has any power to actually promote you to Bureaucrat?

What can we do next in this situation? Have you tried adopting the wiki? I'm certain that with your obvious dedication and experience you'd be able to get Bureaucrat status without a single issue.

I completely agree that asking to be an admin is no way to work on a wiki- it should be voted on. I figured in this situation the admins either didn't have time, didn't care about the wiki, or didn't actually exist. But like you said, you've already earned your votes, and done a lot of important research. If we can get you into Bureaucrat status things can get moving around here again!

    • I tried adopting the wiki back in December. Since then the staff member I was in touch with is no longer a staff member. I just emailed another Fandom staff member directly.
      Now we wait...., again.

Oh man, you've gotta be kidding me! Ah well, I've got a good feeling about this one.

    • I'd love to see the wiki more organized. I'm a big fan of the show and I could probably help out with some organization and other stuff. I mostly only use the forums here but I do a lot of editing on the Shrek Wiki. Let me know if you need my help with anything.

Forgive me. I did not know this.

    • I really hope we get new admins soon. None of the admins are active. I haven't seen the Top Navigation updated ever! Did we need a theme change? It has only raised complaints. I know many active users, and I would love to see any of them be promoted.

I hope Djahuti is able to adopt the wiki. If he does, I would like to see one other member promoted to admin.

      I know you're kidding me.

Seriously though, wasn't it you who got the Admin run-around like, a year and a half ago?
