  • Figured I'd start a new discussion for this one because the topic is a bit broader than an air date, but this is great news, in the long run!
    ActualNews

The official date being in August is really painful, but the fact that MML is going to be moved to the actual Disney Channel rather than Disney XD is the best news we could possibly get!

    • i'm just grateful we have an airdate now even if it is far away from now, hopefully we get a trailer for the crossover at the comic con till than. Maybe with it moving to Disney too means a likley chance for a season three? They'd just air the last of the episodes on XD if not right?

    • At last.  I've waited this long already; I can wait a bit more.

        Loading editor
    • This is good news for the show. Now that it's being moved to Disney Channel, ratings will be higher than in Season 1.

        Loading editor
    • "Maybe" August "-ish" "or so". None of those are good (or confirm its coming in August). The Disney Channel Move really doesn't affect me, as I buy episodes on YouTube.

    • That's only if any son of Murphy comes near them.  As far as I know, none has, so we still should have a star to watch it by.

        Loading editor
    • The way you said

      any son of Murphy

made me think of that episode where Cavendish and Dakota met “the original Murphy”. And now that I think about it that doesn’t really make any sense. How is it possible that he was the first person to ever have the last name Murphy? If his last name is Murphy that means it was probably his dad’s last name too which means it’s also his dad’s last name and his dad’s last name and so on. Right? Idk.

        Loading editor
    • All last names originated somewhere.  I think that the "original Murphy" was the first Murphy to be afflicted with Murphy's law, not necessarily the first person ever to have the name Murphy.

        Loading editor
    • Well where did Murphy’s Law come from then?

    • But That Someone  was Sheriff Murphy. Then Where did he get it? Someone threw it at you earlier. BUT THAT SOMEONE WAS SHERIFF MURPHY!

To be honest, his dedication towards rooting for a Season 3 made me think that. As far as I know, he has sent letters to Dan, Swampy and Weird Al. He even has a message to the entire cast and crew. In short, his recent blog post is really well written, and I can't see how that can be ignored.I don't have much idea about others, but Tlong's dedication is truly amazing. At least that's what I think.

    • Tiong's dedication IS great, but it won't necessarily get a third season. And saying that it probably won't isn't pessimism, Melissafan, it's realism. We all want a third season, but let's not set ourselves up for disappointment.

    • I don't pretend that I am somehow going to make a third season happen all by myself, I don't suffer from delusions quite that grand, but even if it doesn't hopefully,if enough people make enough noise, Disney will at least be willing to find a way to let the show continue in some other medium, like as a comic book or something.

We're all disappointed right now already as it is, all because the Lords High and Mighty over at Disney Channel are so despitate to make Dan and Swampy resurrect Phineas and Ferb and make it into the Teen Titans Go of this channel they never even wanted to give this show a chance once they discovered it wasn;t anything like Phineas and Ferb.

Despite the fact that Dan and Swampy ended Phineas and Ferb so it WOULDN'T turn into that! Apparently nobody at Disney channel leanred anything from the infamous December 2017 Teen Titans Go fiasco.

Should have just let Disney XD keep the rights to Milo, they treated it a lot better and I bet they would have already renewed it by now.

How is it dead? I still get it. Is the channel gonna be folding soon or something?

Unless you mean their programming is dead, that I agree with. It's nothing but DuckTales, Phineas and Ferb, those video game shows and the occasional Gravity Falls and Big City Greens thrown in.

    • Maybe we have to look at the people. They are probably the ones demanding these the most. For example, Ducktales is very popular, and I have seem plenty of support for Phinabella. Well, I've kinda done that. You really think Milo is my only passion?

I'll recommend the show Amphibia to you. You have this Thai girl named Anne who was forced to steal found a mysterious box alongside her (probably not good) friends, who then get transported into another world and separated from each other. This world, Amphibia, is full of walking talking frogs, toads, salamanders and newts, as well as other enlarged swamplife and weird creatures. Here, Anne meets a frog named Sprig, and the two become (real) friends as Anne gets adopted by Sprig's grandfather for the time being, as Anne has to find her other friends, find a way back to Earth, and find out the properties and purposes of the mysterious box they got.

Plot progression is kinda like with Star and Milo: 11 minute slice of life episodes with the occasional plot progression episode. It's fun.

MAYBE IF Disney channel had just treated Milo with more respect, put it on at a decent time (Disney Channel, I mean not Disney XD) and...oh I don't know..ADVERTISED IT more, more people would have known about it, more people would have seen it, and more people would be demanding a season 3...

      Just sayin.

But what do you MEAN you're not looking forward to a season 3?! All of a sudden you don't love Milo anymore?! Don;t you trust Dan and Swampy (who WANT to make a season 3) would do just as good a job with it as they did the first two seasons?! They had 4 successful seasons of Phineas and Ferb didn;t they? And they only stopped (temporarily) cause THEY wanted to.

Of course the Lords High and Mighty thought differently, but still...

    • A possible positive sign is the fact that Swampy apparently has his own production company. I have no idea if Dan and Swampy have actually discussed this or not, and I am sure they couldn't tell us if have have, but it seems to me that the possibility of Milo moving to Amazon actually does exist. Whether or not that is something that is likely to happen, I have no idea, but the possibility is definitely there.

Anothr thought that occurs to me is the possibility of a third party buying the print or audio rights to Milo, as there are actually channels through which it is possible to approach Disney with those kinds of enquiries. I have no idea what that would actually involve, but again the possibility seems to be there, at least in theory.

I hope not, I;'ve had a lot of problems with Amazon! Everytime I go there to order something my debt card gets hacked! I've had to get 3 new debit cards in the past 2 years! Finally I cancelled my membership there!

I hope another channel buys Milo if Disney decides once and for all to abandon it, let's have a channel who can show it respect, advertise it, promote it and give it a good slit so more people can be aware of it!

I’ve been trying to do that but there just aren’t really any good shows that aren’t over or in between seasons. I even found a really cool book series but my mom won’t buy me the next book so I can’t even read. Luckily season 4 of Rick and Morty is coming out on November 10th so I’ll have a brand new episode to watch and then 2 days later I can start watching Disney+. I’m not sure if any of the original content that I’m excited for will be out at launch or not but I think I’m gonna try watching some of the old Disney cartoons like the OG DuckTales, Darkwing and the other shows from that era that have had crossovers with the new DuckTales. And I’m also thinking about binge watching every single Simpsons episode. I can watch some of the Marvel movies I haven’t seen yet like Thor 1 and 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy 2… so yeah I think I’ll have plenty of stuff to watch soon. It’s just been hard for the past couple of months when I didn’t really have anything else to watch. I did end up watching a lot of YouTube though.

How about we watch or read something different? It will give us something to do while we wait and distract us from the feeling of anxiousness or any pessimistic thought about season 3

Believe me, I'm doing the method right now and it works. You guys should try it

Ok, I really don’t want to embarrass you or offend you or anything make you hurt ,but how old are you exactly ? If you want books, you don’t need to ask your mom for money, just secretly save money for yourself and when you have enough, go to the store and buy the book for yourself. I bought the whole Harry Potter series by myself with my saving and I’m just a student (actually, not the whole series, Deathly Hallows was my birthday gift but I think that still counts -.-)

    • It's not that I don't like Milo, I just can feel a "strong desire" for Season 3. Trust me I've watched episodes of MML and in most cases it was better than "Phineas And Ferb", but the latter has some stuff" that can't be substituted, at least for me.

@Hi, I'm Mr. H: It just might be because of a difference of country/family. Young people from Western countries are generally more independent from an early age than people from, say South-East Asia.

    • If someone thinks a third season won't happen, that doesn't necessarily mean they're pessimistic by nature, nor does it mean they hate Milo.

They could really love Milo, but also want to be realistic. They could really hope they're wrong about their assumption, but know for a fact that it just isn't the most likely thing to happen.

No one was asking for a substitution, not even Dan and Swampy. They wanted to do something completely different, but unfortunately Disney refused to let them and purposely treated this show like crap to try to send them a message "Nothing but Phineas and Ferb from you two no matter how good this show is!" That's I think one of the reasons why they included ol Doof in the 2nd season, to try to satisfy them by giving them Phineas and Ferb characters, but it still wasn;t enough.

Apparently Disney has not learned anything from Teen Titans Go! Don;t know if that's just pathetic or sad.

...you are aware that Disney XD is NOT their main channel right? It's Disney Channel, where they show most of their new shows, but mostly live-action stuff.

Why don't you actually have Disney Channel, anyway? I've heard that in America, most people have Disney Channel but NOT Disney XD (as can be seen in the various TV ratings: DXD broadcasts get far less views than DC broadcasts do).

...okay, I really need to let this out, even with the claim being false/questionable.

Colleen, don't you realize how selfish it is of you for hoping that Disney+ WON'T give MML a third season just because YOU can't access Disney+?!

Just ask yourself: If you had a final say to either launch the new season on Disney+ (and launching it elsewhere is NOT an option), or not at all (i.e., cancelling the entire show), what would you rather do? Make everyone happy by launching it, or make everyone disappointed by cancelling it solely because you cannot access it?!

Besides, Disney+ is NOT smartphone exclusive. It's also available on tablets (heck, I'm pretty sure it's common knowledge that it'd be available for both tablets and smartphones since the very beginning). I'm using Disney+ on my iPad, for example. And apparently, you can use the website as well if you don't have a tablet either! AND Disney hopes it's coming to video game consoles like PS4 as well!

You know what, just read this for more information on accessibility.

Believe me, if lack of accessibility is the ONLY reason why you don't like Disney+, you REALLY don't need to fear.

    • Yeah one of the thing that you can do with Disney+ is straight up ASK for new content. Beyond just watching Milo and hoping Disney reads between the lines its possibly to simply tell Disney directly that we want MML season 3. If enough people do that it will be very, VERY hard for Disney to ignore the fanbase.

      • A modern web browser on PC, Mac or other operating systems

      • A gaming console like PS4 or Xbox One

      • A streaming device such as Chromecast, Amazon FireTV or Apple AirPlay

Or, of course, people that cannot allow themselves to pay 7 dollars a month or 70 dollars a year for a streaming service.

Well, IF the 3rd season comes to Disney + it won;t be for quite a while. They gotta finish that Phineas and Ferb movie first.

Though I find it kinda sad that such a great show as this has to be reduced to having it's 3rd season on an app because it;'s parent company couldn't give it the love and respect it deserves.

    • There's nothing disrespectful about it being on a streaming service, Colleen. Most of the most beloved shows of the 2010's aired on streaming services. If anything, the fact that it might be on Disney + could help the show.

Colleen, I don't think Disney's disrespect has anything to do with a potential 3rd season of MML being on an app. Traditional TV is on the way out and more people are watching content on streaming services. And I also agree with the other user that you were being very selfish about not wanting MML Season 3 to be on Disney+ just because YOU can't get it. They cannot cater to just YOUR wants. They need to cater to the wider audience.

Like Arend said you can also use TVs for video game consoles. But most of the TVs being sold in Best Buy these days are probably Smart TVs which allow you to access streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+. So even if cable dies, it’s not like everyone is gonna throw away their TVs and all TV making companies are gonna go out of business. If anything they’ll just make the remotes that come with the TVs more like Roku remotes and instead of buttons for numbers so you can type in what channel you want to watch, they’ll just have buttons for specific streaming services. Which reminds me, Roku is another place you can watch Disney+ that I don’t think anyone here has mentioned yet.

Wow, cool! Where was that shot?

    • I presume at Disney, as it's a Disney+ ad.

But it could air just on Disney + and not on any of the Disney channels.

    • Even if Disney+ did have ads in the app, why would they advertise for their own app? Also I can’t tell if that’s an official Disney+ ad or if Dan just added the Disney+ part at the end of the video to make sure people knew they could watch the show on Disney+ because I feel like it would be a little weird for them to use cosplayers in their advertisements, even if they are the people that the characters were based off of. If they wanted to make official MML Disney+ ads they could just use actual clips from the show.

    • From what I heard Disney + is already having problems and can use all the help it can get, especially with the revelation that they censored eps of the Simpsons (which in my opinion has no business being there in the first place) included content warnings after some classics as Dumbo, which is angering some people, and just recently was involved in a hacking scandal!

All in the first few weeks of launch.  NOT a good way to get started.

    • I agree on all of this but the content warnings. Those are necessary. People should know that racism is in these things. Regardless of it being a different time.

    • I never saw the Crows as racist to tell the truth. In a way they were the heroes of Dumbo! The only ones (besides Timothy) who were kind to Dumbo and wanted to genuinly help him. Plus 'When I See An Elephant Fly;' is one of the best songs in the whole movie.

I dunno, I just never saw what we were supposed to see there.

But I;'m just glad they didn;t alter that scene at all like they were rumered to be doing before the app came out. If they had to include the content warning I guess it;s a small price to pay to see the movie in it;s entirely. Can't say that for The Simpsons.

    • What, we're having a problem with content warnings now? Besides, the warning said "it may contain outdated cultural depictions". The fact stands that the crows are based on black people, but whether they really are racially insensitive is up to the viewer. The content warning is there because, since it's an outdated depiction of black people, it is very likely someone will find it racially insensitive.

As for the Simpsons, they'll fix it in 2020.

    • Also also, I presume the ad was shown at the CTN Animation Expo, considering this tweet by Dan that showed the same people at the expo (while Dan is also at the expo).

    • I agree Arend! I love that there are content warnings! Even if maybe maybe MAYBE the intention was good, we know that it will make some people upset. Those feelings have to be taken into account. Also, like, who does it hurt? They're not stopping the movie! It's just a fucking button press!

Will that include the infamous Micheal Jackson episode or is that now permenentrly persona non grata?

No this is about how some of the eps aren;t being shown or have scenes cut out of them.

    • Yeah, so I am actually having a one on one conversation with Weird Al on Twitter.

        Loading editor
    • WTF? What are you talking about?

        Loading editor
    • I am not entirely sure sure what happened. He followed me on Twitter and it was definitely his official Twitter account. That in and of itself was definitely a WTF?! moment, then he sent me a message, so I responded and thanked him for doing MML and told him that we really want Disney to greenlight season 3. Then he tried to hit me up for money for his charity, which I suppose is fine, but he couldn't ctually provide me with a link when I asked him for one.

I was about to screech that I offically hated you right now (JK, JK!) but the rest of that conversation sounds awfully suspicious to me. From what I heard Weird Al is a very sweet and nice man, much like Milo so for him to hit you up with a charity request from out of the blue sounds really unlike him. And for him not to even say a thank you or something after you gave him such a nice compliment and instead hit you up for a charity like that is weird (and I don't mean Weird Al weird)

Do you talk about Milo Murphy often on your Twitter? (I don't have Twiotter nor do I follwo it so I don;t know personally)

I think somebody may be trying to swindle you! Especially since like you said he couldn;t provide you with a link....he may be just someone posing as Al. Especially since like you said he just followed you right out of the blue and he knew you liked Milo Murphy's Law. Too suspicious there. Ya know, you should look up Weird Al's offical Twitter page. Don;t post anything on there yet, just look at it and compare that to the post you got. See how similar they are and examine them closely, see if you can spot the slightest difference. And if you spot any immidiately warn Al someone is posing as him to swindle money. But above all DON'T GIVE THIS PERSON ANY MONEY!!

        Loading editor
    • Yeah, it was definitely a copycat account. I found a couple of other people who got friended on Twitter and then blocked almost immediately.

Yeah, I've read about that, people who either get an almost identical Twitter account to someone famous or are able to hack into the account and pose AS the person to try to swindle people out of money by claiming it;s for charity.

Hope you sent a post to the real Al and warned him so he can look into it.

Those people that did got blocked probably sent the money and whoever the poser was took it, blocked them, amd moved on.

    • Y'see kids, this is why it's important to check if these celebrity accounts have that handy dandy Verified icon next to their handle.

...you know, the one with the check mark...

And if they immidiately ask you for money for their charity, ask them for a link to it. If they can't provide one, DON;T SEND!

    • (Sorry I’m a little late so I have a lot to respond to) Yeah Disney+ had some bugs and glitches but nothing is gonna be perfect immediately and it’ll take a little while to get everything fixed. If anything the bugs were caused by way more people joining than they expected. They said there were over 10 million people on day one and I think over 35 million within the first week. Then a week after it released in the US it also released in Australia so I wouldn’t be surprised if that increased the number of subscribers by over 5 million more. So I don’t think they’re having any problems with low numbers of subscribers.

I’m not sure which episodes of the Simpsons got scenes cut out but I did hear that the Michael Jackson episode wasn’t on Disney+. But I think I heard that it was actually the decision of the creator of the show and not Disney+. And yeah I’m not sure what scenes they would’ve cut out considering they left the Bart skateboarding scene in the movie uncensored.

Like everyone already said the warnings are good to have just so everyone knows that it might contain outdated depictions.

The hacking thing wasn’t really Disney’s fault. People used the same email and password they use for every website and if one of the many websites they use it on got hacked in the past then that means people already had access to their email and password before Disney+ even existed. So then the hackers can assume that they used the same email and password on Disney+ and boom they get into the Disney+ account without actually hacking Disney+ itself. Plus even if the “hack” affected thousands of people, that’s really not that many compared to at least 40 million total people. So it’s a relatively small problem.
