EPISODE 2A: ROOTING FOR THE ENEMY

Written by Scott Peterson Storyboarded by Chris Ybarra Directed by Robert F. Hughes (2)

When the school team, “The Geckos” face an unbeatable team, "The Tigers", Milo gets to finally watch a game. But things get wild when Milo and Melissa figure out that he could help "The Geckos" and take away his Murphy's law effect from them if he roots for the enemy.

Fun Fact: Yet another reference: “Great googly moogly!”, Major Monogram's quote from “Phineas and Ferb” is shown on a sign an is said by Melissa.

Comedic Highlights: Bradley's reaction to Milo, The “pep” talk, “It isn't?”, “If you need me, I'll be in my office, staring into space.”, the defunded marching band, “You're on my diggerie doo!”, “Oh my gecko! I would love to come!” “Last time he came there was a Llama stampede.” “Llama stampede?” “Did you know that they can spit up to 50 feet?”, The reaction to the os disaster, Milo and Melissa playing cards and Murphy's law kicking in, “It's still safer than bowling!”, “I’m 12.5! Wooo! It's the wave! I’m sure it works better with a crowd.”, “It's Zack's first game and they're gonna lose! It's gonna be great!”, "sounds of disaster", the "sounds of disaster" CD being destroyed, “We apologies in advance – The team”, The mad "Tigers" fan, cutting the banner with scissors, Joni being hit on the head with a football, “Hi band!”, The marching band's horrible music, “Dude, we have a tuba!, “Sorry, we're closed!”, The crème brulee guy, “We could still win, you know, if the "Tigers" all suddenly came down with a very bad cold or suddenly decide to become folk musicians, or you know you can stop me at any time…”, “Who would have guessed the game would be ruined! Color me surprised! H’mm… What's the one thing that's different at this game?!” “I don't know, I'm not usually here.”, The "Tigers" mascot being hit, “Great googly moogly!”, the entirety of “Rooting for the Enemy”, The coach's monologue, the "Tigers" mascot taking out the ref, the fake out that makes you think that the drill will break, but instead it starts digging through, “Now I can play the tuba!”, “I should probably turn this thing off.”, Coach's flying, “I think I broke my thumb!”, the awful cheer and “Yeah, we wrote that one in the hall”.

Dramatic Highlights: N/A.

Aesthetic Highlights: The pacing is great, with so many gags, things going on all the time, but it's the song “Rooting for the Enemy” that steals the episode. It is sung by Weird Al! I also love Milo and Melissa's chemistry.

Song: “Rooting for the Enemy” written by Dan Povenmire and Martin Olsson. Lawfully Great Song.

Best Characters: Milo, Melissa and Coach Mitchell.

Worst Moment: N/A.

Worst Character: N/A.

Quote: “I spent 17 Dollars rooting for the enemy!” Milo.

One of the funniest, most exciting episodes of the show! It's a great concept an it's executed really well. The jokes just keep hitting and it's just so fun to watch. I can't begin to describe how much I love this episode (though I will try in the analysis) and of course, the song “Rooting for the Enemy" is the runaway highlight. Just a really great episode. A Lawfully Great Episode. Lawfully Great (3) P.S, Share your thoughts!
